Our Vessels

Our current fleet consists of Ocean Scout and Offshore Scout; two near-identical, modern 49 foot Oyster ketches. They were purpose-built for us back in 1993 and 1997 respectively; each specifically designed and equipped with sail training in mind. Since their introduction, they have been lovingly maintained and upgraded, meaning that they are in as good condition today as they were when they were new!

Our vessels are equipped and maintained to a very high standard, with all the required safety equipment to meet and exceed the UK’s stringent commercial regulations. Each can sail with up to 14 people on board – including 2 or 3 sea-staff and a maximum of 11 crew.

All our sea-staff have enhanced DBS certificates. They all receive safeguarding and safety training, and they also hold food hygiene certificates.

Every voyage starts with a safety briefing, and throughout your adventure our sea-staff will be on hand to keep you safe.

Below Deck

The boats were fitted out specifically with sail training in mind and are comfortable, seaworthy and practical.

The cabin has a large communal living area where meals are taken, together with a kitchen (galley) area that is designed for use at sea. There are 3 crew bunks in this area.

The front and back of the boat contain the accommodation areas. There are 4 crew bunks in each section, together with a toilet (heads) and a small amount of space for your kit.
