2027 DofE Expedition and Residential Voyages

DofE Silver Open Expedition . This is a 7 day expedition that includes training, practice expedition and final assessed expedition. No previous experience is necessary. The expedition cost includes all food on board, mooring fees, fuel and use of waterproofs and lifejackets. Travel to/from the start/finish port is not included.

Silver Expedition Dates - 17th to 24th July 2027. Start in Ipswich and finish in Dieppe France. A valid passport is required for this voyage. Voyage fee £640 if booked before December 2026. (Bursary funding may be available - please contact the office)

DofE Gold Open Expedition . This is a 9 day expedition that includes training, practice expedition and final assessed expedition. No previous experience is necessary. The expedition cost includes all food on board, mooring fees, fuel and use of waterproofs and lifejackets. Travel to/from the start/finish port is not included. Gold Expedition Dates - 21st to 30th August 2027. Start in Dieppe France and finish in Ipswich, Suffolk. 17th to 26th September 2027 Start and finish in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Gold Residential Voyages. The following voyages are suitable for booking by individuals for the residential section of the Gold Award. As a member of the crew you will experience all aspects of sailing an offshore yacht. You will be involved in steering, sail management, cooking and navigation. The voyages help to build confidence, encourage working as a team and other life skills. No previous experience is necessary.

Belgium Experience - 28th May to 2nd June 2027, Ipswich to Ipswich. An opportunity to experience some proper offshore sailing, with a trip across the North Sea to Ostend. The itinerary may include a visit to Bruges or the small port of Blankenberge. There will be time for you to explore ashore to get a real taste of Belgium, before the return trip across the North Sea. The RYA Competent Crew certificate can be completed during this voyage. A passport is essential for this trip. Travel to/from the start and finish ports is not included. Summer Voyage Leg 1 Ipswich to Dieppe. 17th to 21st July 2027. Cross the English Channel and explore the French coastline and experience the ambience of various French ports before disembarking in Dieppe.The RYA Competent Crew certificate can be completed during this voyage. Summer Voyage Leg 2 - Dieppe to Cherbourg. 24th to 31st July 2027. Explore the French coastline, visit D day beaches and experience the ambience of various French ports before disembarking in Cherbourg. The RYA Competent Crew certificate can be completed during this voyage. A passport is essential for this trip.
