DofE Expedition and Residential Voyages 2024

DofE Silver Open Expedition . This is a 7 day expedition that includes training, practice expedition and final assessed expedition. No previous experience is necessary. The expedition cost includes all food on board, mooring fees, fuel and use of waterproofs and lifejackets. Travel to/from the start/finish port is not included.

DofE Gold Open Expedition . This is a 9 day expedition that includes training, practice expedition and final assessed expedition. No previous experience is necessary. The expedition cost includes all food on board, mooring fees, fuel and use of waterproofs and lifejackets. Travel to/from the start/finish port is not included. Gold Expedition Dates - 19th - 28th July 2024. Start and finish in Ipswich, Suffolk. FULLY BOOKED. 17th - 26th August 2024. Start port Poole, Finish port Portsmouth. SPACES

Gold Residential Voyages. The following voyages are suitable for booking by individuals for the residential section of the Gold Award. As a member of the crew you will experience all aspects of sailing an offshore yacht. You will be involved in steering, sail management, cooking and navigation. The voyages help to build confidence, encourage working as a team and other life skills. No previous experience is necessary.

Guernsey Expedition - 2nd to 10th August, Ipswich to Guernsey. Set sail from Ipswich and cruise the English Channel ports which may include Ramsgate, Cherbourg, Alderney, before arriving in St Peter Port Guernsey . A passport is essential for this trip. Travel to/from the start and finish ports is not included. Voyage fee £721 (Bursary funding may be available - please contact the office)

ASTO Small Ships Race - 10th to 17th August, St Peter Port to Poole. An exciting opportunity to join other sail training organisation's with crews of young people. Take part in shore based challenges and activities, before competing in a friendly race to Poole. Once in Poole there will be more activities and a prize giving event. The atmosphere will be fantastic. A passport is essential for this trip. Travel to/from the start and finish ports is not included. South Coast Expedition - 10th to 25th August, Poole to Portsmouth. Explore the beautiful South Coast of England. Quiet bays, bustling ports and great scenery. Possible destinations may include Swanage, Weymouth, Yarmouth IOW, Lymington, Cowes and finally experience the bustling Solent before arriving at the final destination of Portsmouth. Travel to/from the start and finish ports is not included. Voyage fee £721 (Bursary funding may be available - please contact the office)

Channel Ports Expedition - 26th August to 1st September, Portsmouth to Ipswich. Set sail from Portsmouth, home to the Royal Navy. Visit English and French Channel ports which may include Le Havre, Dieppe, Eastbourne and Ramsgate before arriving at your destination Ipswich. A passport is essential for this trip. Travel to/from the start and finish ports is not included. Voyage fee £541 (Bursary funding may be available - please contact the office)

Delivery/Milebuilder Trips - 6th - 11th October, Portsmouth to Ipswich. Set sail from Portsmouth, home to the Royal Navy. Visit English Channel ports which may include Brighton, Eastbourne Dover and Ramsgate before arriving at your destination Ipswich.
